Question by Salman M: Why are Pentax DSLR cameras considerably cheaper than Canon or Sony? Is it because of the quality?
I’ve seen a Pentax DSLR that I really like and from the technical descriptions seems to be a very good product. However, when I compare its much lower price with a similar Canon or Sony, it makes me suspicious. Is there a catch for Pentax cameras that I’m not aware of?

my bro-in law had a k100 something and it took awesome images. you’ll find a lot of the pros recommend it as an entry level DSLR, much like the other nikons and canons.

Question by nicolerao83: How do I upgrade the lens of my canon powershot digital camera?
I have a canon digital camera with a 4x optical zoom. what kind of lens do i look for to upgrade to higher zoom? I am pretty camera dumb but am getting into pics so want a camera that wont get blurry upon getting far a way pics.
I found telephoto lenses that are 3x does that mean that my new zoom would be 7x since I already have a 4x or does it replace what the camera already has? This is where I am getting confused.

Question by : How does the original Canon EOS compare to the Canon Rebel T2i?
I have an original Canon EOS from the early 90′s and I’m looking to upgrade to my first digital SLR camera. Besides the obvious difference of digital vs film, are these cameras functionally similar? The old EOS has your basic manual functions and some “modes” as well as an auto mode. Can I expect similar functionality from the T2i?

Hey,

Buying a T2i for your first DSLR would be the best option right now. Its much better than any other DSLR from competition at same price.

It has an Auto mode, though I recommend you to slowly start with Manual mode. It has manual focus (all lenses).

It’s like your old SLR, but with an LCD, less noise than all of those films, great video and other stuff.

Question by Nicole.: Memory card good for taking video on my Pentax KX?
I have a 1 GB and a 16 GB memory card and neither will take more than 2 seconds of video on my Pentax KX. Any recomendations for a memory card that will be enough memory and fast enough for shooting videos ( I prefer it to hold at least an hour)? Thanks!

I know the canon rebel T1i (or something like that) has the video mode, does the XS? If so how do i turn it on? (there not just like a option on the mode knob)

It doesn’t have video. If you want entry level with video you’d want nikon d3100.
